Whale Submarine Excursion

The Maldives Whale Submarine is a highly advanced state of the art passenger submarine, the largest of its kind in the world, which takes visitors deep into the undersea world of the inviting Maldivian waters. A truly memorable experience, the whale submarine never fails to thrill and captivate its spellbound passengers.

The submarine makes the first stop in its descent at 25m. At this depth passengers will see a mesmerizing display of diverse kinds of reef fish amidst vibrantly coloured corals. You will also notice common lionfish, yellow box fish, yellow and blue striped snappers as well as turtles.

After descending to 40m the observer will notice another variety of coral garden. Taking the current into account the submarine may pause on a sandy area adjacent to a large underwater cave. Here the submarine’s exterior lights illuminate the wide array of fish and other underwater creatures which take refuge inside the cave. Sometimes visitors will see a 2 metre long giant grouper which inhabits this section of the waters; at times this exceptional specimen approaches the viewing ports of the submarine providing a sensational view of this miracle of nature. Other notable sights on the 45 minute dive include Napoleons, white tip reef sharks and manta rays.
